Dragonfly Landscapes Tuscan Garden Gallery

Our customers on this project wanted a space where they could entertain friends and family with minimum garden maintenance and also with a play area for the children with additional features including lighting effects, water feature and a raised terrace. The construction process lasted 3 weeks and was achieved in four stages. The first stage was to remove all existing lawn, trees, plants and shrubs. In total 18 tons of soil was excavated in the initial work to three levels where the existing lawn once was. All existing paving was also taken up to form a blank canvas for us to work with. The second stage consisted of laying foundations for the walls and erecting the blocks to the shapes of the plan which as you can see were all semi -circles apart from the terrace area. Then hardcore was laid down and compressed to stop any movement in the foundations and to create a strong base for the rest of the paving.

The third stage was to lay the reinforced electrical cables into walls for the lighting around the whole area of the garden which also included placing power points on the terrace. After this was completed all the walls were rendered with three coats to get a real continental finish. Then came the final part of the construction with the arrangement of the Indian stone which as you can see was laid in one direction to give a uniformed look to the whole paved area.

The fourth stage included the installation of the water feature flows out of the wall and cascades down onto the next level, painting of all rendered walls, placement of turf and a deep clean of the entire project. The description of this project is broken down into the four main areas of development. Through the initial meetings with Michael and Christine to the actual building of the garden we had built up a level of trust and understanding with Michael and Christine that allowed Dragonfly-Landscapes the freedom to experiment and to use our knowledge and expertise to anticipate their expectations to produce a garden they wished for and beyond.
